This cluster of 6 affordable multi-family residences was launched to cultivate and develop an improved living experience for the tenant. Our team was working with different NYC agencies. Two buildings within the cluster, 157 W 122nd and 244 Lenox Avenue, were landmarked buildings. Developed packets, specific for each project, were prepared to receive approval from the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The best approach to the design was to work in 2 phases of construction. As the units are completed, the tenants are then relocated so that work can begin on the next building.
Our design introduced high performing boilers and windows. Blower door test were performed to ensure that the sustainable measures taken delivered desired results. Our approach resulted in a wide range of design opportunity and helped to contribute to our firm’s philosophy of introducing efficiency and sustainability to the project.
