68-70 Bank Street Waterbury, CT
Bank Street Apartments, located in downtown Waterbury, Connecticut, is an adaptive reuse project that is the first LEED for New Construction Certified residential building in Waterbury.
The project is a gut rehabilitation of an existing four story brick masonry office building. The upper floors were converted to residential apartments and the ground floor commercial space was provided. The façade of the building & the ground floor storefront were restored to their original historic appearance.
The luxury rentals brought life back to a downtown undergoing its own revitalization, while maintaining the existing urban fabric of the community. The work received an Award of Excellence for Adaptive Reuse of a Building from the State of Connecticut, as well as a Beautification Award from the Waterbury Litter Control and Beautification Commission.
